As I grow during the natural maturation process of being a young adult I’ve discovered just how limited and precious time is. Not so long ago It seemed like I had all the free time in the world to do whatever I wanted, when I wanted. Those days have temporarily come to an end for now. With all the added priorities and responsibilities that are a composition of work, school and home, it feels like I rarely have any free time for myself. So now whenever I get time to hang out at my favorite spots, Long and Cosita Rico beaches, I am ever the more thankful and grateful.
Long and Cosita Rico beaches are connecting public beaches that make up the shore line of my hometown Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. They are my personal paradises and my go to spots whenever I just want to get away, reflect, relax, rejuvenate, unwind or simply have a good time.
I love the healing tranquility of the beaches and their beautiful surroundings. I love the gentle breezes upon my face. I love the sand, the trees and the clear blue skies. I love the long walks I take upon them. I love swimming in their deep blue waters and siting down and watching the waves come in and out off the ocean.
Another major reason I love the beaches is because of the people and all the activities they do here that bring them to life. I like seeing the boats, the surfers and all the colorful kites that people like to fly. I enjoy seeing the people swim, jog, ride their bikes and skateboards. I like seeing the young boys doing their baseball training and the people practicing martial arts. I enjoy watching the street performers or as we call them here, “ninjas” do their thing. I like seeing the beach vendors and their wide assortment of merchandise. I like seeing all the fancy motorbikes along the beach boulevard. I enjoy going to the little restaurants up and down the beaches. I enjoy seeing the people eating, drinking, laughing, playing their loud music and having a great time.
So to sum it all up, I really, really love going to my town's beaches. The happiness there is contagious! I simply love soaking up all the positive energy I get whenever I go to them and how wonderfully free it always makes me feel. I love the atmosphere, the surroundings, the people and the memories I accumulate. Each day I get in my paradise is a blessing so I make sure that I enjoy them as much as I can, when I can, while I can.
Until next time. Besos!
